"We were a motley crew of individuals who essentially wanted to sound like a band from Venus or Mars!" – Daniel Ash
A bit of a delve into the past here so bare with me . . .some of you were probably not even born when this group formed. I know I wasn’t . . .
After Bauhaus and before Love and Rockets , Daniel Ash formed Tones On Tail with fellow Bauhaus member, Kevin Haskins, and Bauhaus roadie, Glenn Campling. Experimenting in sound innovation and re–creation one could argue that their sound was ahead of their time and very well could be the foundation of or at least the beginnings of experimental/electro/dreamy synth. They’ve been sampled by a lot ranging from Fun Lovin’ Criminals to Moby.
