I've been feelin Friendly Fires huge this year...without a doubt the best new band. First time i heard them was via GRUM's remix of "Skeleton Boy" which also ended up being one of my favourite tracks in 2009. Please make sure check it out if you haven't already. "Photobooth" reminds a bit of Prince in his 1999-era...funky and buzzing with a bassline that has an attitude problem.
Even though he started out with a reality TV show, Shwayze really surprised me with his music and The Bloody Beetroots did an amazing job with "Get U Home." There's enough Acid and Electro for everyone to go around and still be enjoyable when you're not headbanging in the club.
