So I’m off to Portland this week, hopefully it won’t be raining the entire time. Music unrelated to that comment, finally weening myself off Hype Machine a bit, starting off with the Fred Falke remix of Nero Reaching Out. It’s an older one, but well it’s a great track. Slightly different sounding remix by Plastic Plates of Nile Delta Aztec. Actually reminds me of the good old days of when I started this blog, light techno I guess with an awesome beat. Lastly, the Aeroplane remix of Surahn Wonderful. Funky.
No that isn’t Rebecca Black, sheesh. Got some great tracks for you today, and despite them being popular on Hype Machine, I actually found most of them on Soundcloud! What a great place for music. Starting off with a great track suggested from one of you guys, the Plastic Plates remix of Strange Talk Cast Away. Awesome remix, thanks for forwarding it to me, more of this! Second is the RAC remix of Chromeo Bonafied’ Lovin which I though I had heard enough of, but apparently not. Great rendition of the track, I can always trust RAC to properly revamp something. One minute in, such a great sound. Thirdly is the Jay Lamar and Jesse Oliver remix of Viceroy Chase Us Around. Always loved Viceroy, this remix is pretty pleasant, we need to move away from the upbeat sometimes. Leaving off with the Oliver remix of Aeroplane‘s We Can’t Fly… oh so retro electro or funktronica? These guys are great. If you’re looking for the Zimmer mix because you got linked here, it’s on this post.
No no, not the Katy Perry song. I had the privilege of hearing that song like 10 times on my drive back into Toronto last night. Really excited for this first track, the Monsieur Adi remix of Ellie Goulding. I’m still waiting for that second album from Ellie Goulding, the first album Lights was killer. I love the sound of this remix though, really makes my week. Second is the Aeroplane remix of George Michael Faith. Wait, remix of George Michael? Why hasn’t this been done more often? And lastly, the Blue Satellite remix of Retro/Grade Mindfighter. More traditional, maybe music is turning out better than the economy is!
Let’s start off with an awesome remix by Aeroplane of Breakbot Baby I’m Yours. I’m always impressed by Aeroplane’s remixes, if you can remember their amazing remix of Au Revoir Simone last year. This sounds something almost out of Tron at the beginning, I love the retro sound and I’ve far from gotten my fix of it this year. I haven’t really paid much attention to Breakbot but I really have to listen to more of his stuff. The original track is completely different from the remix though; retro but not electro. Well, I haven’t posted any Katy Perry tracks in almost a year and in honor of her new, well month old single I will be posting the ALGERONICS remix of the California Gurls. Since that summer of I Kissed A Girl, Katy Perry really fell behind Lady Gaga at least in hype. Maybe that will change with a new album coming out this year. And lastly, the Epyk remix of Jamaica. Nice improvements to the track. I totally thought I posted Jamaica, this track was produced by Xavier de Rosnay from Justice. It seems I never did though.
At least over here it is. Apologies for the irregular posts, school stuff has me pretty strapped. Damn you school! First off is the Fred Falke remix of Burns‘ First Move. No vocals, quite the long track. Although it was somewhat repetitive, which can be expected from an almost eight minute track, I enjoyed it. Second is The Knocks remix of Master Shortie. Don’t complain about the quality of the file, it’s good but doesn’t sound it. And lastly, the Aeroplane remix of Au Revoir Simone. Finally, my life is complete. Ever since their remix of Friendly Fires featuring Au Revoir Simone, I’ve been hungry for more. By the way, guess the movie.
Well, time for me to make an update post again. Three tracks I rather liked from this week. I seem to have a weakness for tracks featuring Au Revoir Simone and I’m not sure why. I loved the Shinichi Osawa remake of The Chemical Brothers track Star Guitar which also featured Au Revoir Simone and seriously, they basically sang what was in the original track. Anyways, really loved this Aeroplane remix of Friendly Fires. It’s a bit light and slower, all the better to match with Au Revoir Simone and I can’t stop listening. Second, the Tronik Youth remix of Late of the Pier, although with a long-winded intro has an awesome sound. Wait a bit to get into the track, don’t get distracted by flashy colors. And lastly, merci Hot Biscuits, the Disco Villains remix of Justice‘s oh so popular We Are Your Friends. Surprisingly haven’t heard too many remixes of this track. It’s a bit refreshing.

This is your weekend update. First is a new remix by LA Riots of The Ting Tings which is downloadable at RCRD LBL, I have the link below. I haven’t really touched on LA Riots for a while now, really started to miss them. It’s just what the track needed, a little bit of dirty electro. The next two remixes are done by the same guys called Aeroplane, a duo based in Belgium. I’m completely sure how to describe the track, they’re kind of groove of psychedelic as their Myspace so eloquently describes it. Their remixes of MGMT and Cut Copy.
