There’s something I like about Futureflashs mixes, I think it is because it breaks the rules I’m used to. ‘Now he’s asking for mixes to break rules?!’ He does it right, definitely enjoyed this mix despite the one iffy transition in the mid-20 minutes. Whatever, it’s more “raw”. Included three tracks, the Markus Lange & Stereofunk remix of Autodidakt‘s 15 Seconds featuring RQM. Another club track, the Dada Life remix of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, awesome track. And lastly, the Aston Shuffle remix of Malente vs. Azzido da Bass. Finally we’re kind of going towards electro again. Wait, did I promise you guys an electro post? Next time, I promise lol. Also, it seems Niko, aka Futureflashs, seems to have started his own label called Kiez Beats, which although there isn’t much to check out right now I thought I’d mention.

FutureFlashs – Down Under Go Crazy! Mixsession
I’m happy to post the new Futureflashs mix Flash Mix Vol. 1! Tracklist might look short, but I assure you it’s forty minutes of goodness. A bit more dirty electro than I’m used to from Niko, but I’m definitely liking it. Included three tracks from the mix, the Burns remix of White Lies, Dada Life remix of Alex Gopher, and the Para One remix of Boys Noize‘s Jeffer. All probably the dirtier sounding tracks in the mix. I swear I’ve posted the Para One remix before, but it might’ve been for another Boys Noize track. I like it, so it’s getting double posted if I’ve posted it in the past already.
1. White Lies – Death (Burns Remix)

An inbox update for you, not completely different from what I normally do. First track is the Build remix of The Teenagers. Very 80’s ambiance sounding track, love how it matches so well with the original track. Second track is the Midnight Martyn remix of Database featuring Bonde do Role, interesting intro. I how much you like this track will depend on how much of the synth sound you like, cause this definitely has loads of it. Ya, more than normal. Third track is the Culture Prophet remix of FutureFlashs‘ Take It Out. Long intro, once it gets into the song it’s fantastic. More crazy eletro for you. I seemingly need someone to co-write about non-remixed tracks cause I’ve obviously gone right into that rut. I’ll probably ask around later on, hopefully with more success than last time.
It’s Friday and it’s time for some nice electro. First is the Burns remix of Empire of the Sun. It’s actually a nice mellow track which is 7 minutes long. Normally I don’t like tracks this long, but it’s actually really nice so this track is an exception to the rule. Second track is Futureflashs‘ Find Your Brother, did not know he was producing his own music now. Great work! It’s a little clubbier than the other two tracks. Always loving stuff coming from Futureflashs. And lastly, The Golden Filter remix of Cut Copy, it actually sounds like it’s very much out of the Australian electro scene even though The Golden Filter is from NYC. I know, I know, Cut Copy are Aussies, but usually that doesn’t affect the remixers too much.
Alright, seems Digitalism‘s Taken Away is going through a second wave of remixes, possibly from the remix contest? I’ve already posted the MMMatthias remix and the DJ Lapse remix before, decided I’d post these three and the original as well. The original is actually such an amazing song, I’ve always been a huge fan of Digitalism. If you like the track, you’ll probably love their debut album Idealism. This is an all German post, I didn’t intend it to be but I thought it was pretty cool all mentions are German. First remix is by Futureflashs, you’ve heard enough about him from me, can’t get enough of his stuff. Second is a remix from Esto, never heard of them before but I’m quite interested now. And lastly, the Herr Kaschke remix. All three tracks are slightly different, kind of Euro club electro.
Digitalism – Taken Away
Great start to the week. First track is from DJ Lapse, a remix of Digitalism‘s Taken Away. Really loving it cause it’s a tiny bit lighter than what I’ve been posting lately. Kind of the same deal for the next tracks. The FutureFlashs remix of Stay Ali. We’re definitely dancing at an 80’s party with this music, and a cool one at that. FutureFlashs is pro at making anything sound retro, it’s his specialty. Guh, I love the beat from this track, if there was only some way to harness it. And lastly, the ddpesh remix of Cut Copy. Sounding a bit robotic “futuristic”, a sound that’s always welcome of course. Don’t expect it all the time but softer beats are definitely favoring my ears at the moment.
Well, today is Thanksgiving for Canadians and definitely the least logical date for it. Americans have a nice long weekend for Thanksgiving in late November and obviously the Friday after Thanksgiving Day is Black Friday for Christmas shopping. Guess when our Christmas sales come in. Boxing Day, the day after Christmas. Fantastic. Let’s start off with the Shazam remix of Dizzee Rascal‘s Dance Wiv Me featuring Calvin Harris and Chrome. Keep up the good work Shazam, you’re definitely on my watchlist now. I never really thought of looking for remixes for this track, this one definitely surprised me. I love the synth background, it brings this song to another level. Second and sounding quite similar, the Fred Falke edit of Digitalism. Retro is the future. Lastly, the Futureflashs remix of GRUM. Rather older songs, but still great.
