Alright, another mix for you guys. I don’t think I’ve posted a mix as club or house as this one. Great thing is, I don’t think I’ve posted a single one of the tracks in this tracklist. I totally thought I posted another one of Dada Life‘s mixes before but I guess not. Not exactly the smoothest mix I’ve heard, but I think the whole point was for it not to be seamless. For some reason I really liked this mix, listened to it a dozen times and I still can’t get enough of it. Included three tracks from the mix, although I really would’ve loved to post the Audiojack track. First is the Dada Life remix of Shark & Sylvain. Very synth matching this whole mix. Second is Crookers‘ What up Y’all. And lastly, the extended version of Burns‘ Disko. Extended version basically meaning long intro.
Super Viral Brothers – Hot Chocolate + Polar Bear Rug (Dada Life Remix) Huoratron – The New Shit Dada Life – Happy Hands & Happy Feet (12″ Edit) Dada Life – Happy Hands & Happy Feet (Phatzoo Remix) Miike Snoow – Animal (Crookers Remix) Proper Villains – Domo Legato The Bloody Beetroots – Public Enemy Domino – I Will Rock You (Dada Life Guerilla Fart #TBA) Shark And Sylvain – Call Me (Dada Life Remix) Crookers – What Up Y All Burns – Disko Audiojack – Robot The Very Best (Esau Mwamwaya & Radioclit) – Wena Spencer & Hill – Flat Congorock – Runark Pryda – Miami To Atlanta Sidney Samson – Riverside The Death Kit – Loser (Pablo Decoder Remix) Stereofunk – Captain Funk (Fukkk Offf Remix)
What what! Finally a mixtape! It’s been so long since I posted one. Not too much of a surprise that I loved this mixtape, Melechtric basically has the same taste in music. Love the tracklist, some of the tracks I completely missed. Some of the transitions he made in the mix sound almost like they were supposed to be there in the original. One track I completely missed was Mr Oizo‘s Two Takes It, which he ramped up the BPM and well, to tell you the truth it actually sounds better this way. I included 3 tracks for you in this mix, first is the Big Nasty remix of 2Pac. Absolutely love that bassline, didn’t really hear much of 2Pac though. Maybe that’s for the better? Second is the Left/Right remix of Santogold which I really thought I posted before. Or Santigold, whatever. I guess I missed it, club sounding track. And lastly, this track made me smile, the Chew Fu remix of Frank Sinatra. I find it hilarious they remixed New York, New York and not only that, made it the dirtiest track ever. How did they even make those sounds?! Although it was a very cut-up mash, I actually think it worked towards the remix. They did it with confidence. I’d actually like to hear this track without the Frank Sinatra parts, like that track of just Chew Fu.
Mr Oizo – Two Takes It Boys Noize – Oh! (A-Trak remix) Justice Vs Simian – We Are Your Friends (Disco Villains Remix) Fake Blood – Mars Crookers Vs Salt n Peppa – Love to Push It Little Boots – Stuck On Repeat (Fake Blood remix) Dizzee Rascal – Dance Wiv Me (Shazam Remix) 2pac – California Love (Big Nasty remix) Stardust – Music Sounds Better 2008 (DiscoTech Remix) Santogold – L.E.S Artistes (Left Right Remix) M.I.A Vs Mujava – Township XR2 (Melechtric mash-up) Toxic Avenger – Escape (LA Riots remix) T-Pain ft Lil Wayne – Cant Believe It (B-Flat-Trance-more-edit) Felix Da House Cat – Radio (Shinichi Osawa Remix) Frank Sinatra – New York, New York (Chew Fu Big Room Fix) Count & Sinden – Hardcore Girls (Don Rimini Nasty Boy Remix)
Bang Gang is the funniest name ever. For some reason I loved this mixtape by Doom and Hoodrat, one out of many podcasts. Posted way back in March 2007 , if I’ve ever been late with something this tops it. It’s got an amazing tracklist, although it’s more than a year old it still holds ground. It’s also got some questionable yet great transitions. I really like that they didn’t use the traditional fade and blend transitions, though not to bash on transitions in general which are better than playlisting you hear from “DJs” at b-list clubs. I like it when DJs push the limits to transitions to the point where you’re like, “did they just do that?” The intro is probably my favorite part along with the mix of NYPC and MSTRKRFT, the remix of the Ying Yang Twins which made me laugh pretty hard, The Sounds into The Valentinos into Justice and Daft Punk at the end. Did they just play The Final Countdown?
As with the old tracklist, here’s some old songs for you. Surprisingly I haven’t posted many of these tracks. I’ve only included three, but I may be posting more from this tracklist later on. All these tracks were amazingly dirty and well, really remind me of 2007. So this should be a blast from the past for you all. First is the Midnight Juggernauts remix of KIM. Despite the lack of traditional electro in this track, I absolutely love it. You really have to wait 1:30 into the song to get the full thing. It totally matches with the intro of the mix and well. Second is the Digitalism remix of Klaxons. Wait till 2 min into the track, it gets really good. Lastly, the Teenage Bad Girl remix of Scissor Sisters. It’s so dirty, I could totally see this playing while there’s a dance battle going on in some hipster bar.
I’d like to reiterate that if the artists/labels would like any of these tracks removed, please contact me and I will gladly remove the tracks as quickly as possible.

Alright, finally! So I might’ve liked their Verbena No. 4 better which was the first mixtape I’ve posted from them, but this still made the cut for sure. As you’ve probably noticed I haven’t been posting many mixtapes simply because not many have reached the stupidly high standard I’ve set for myself when it comes to mixtapes. I really should lower it simply because I enjoy listening/posting mixtapes and there’s been a lack of it lately.
I always enjoy listening to Buffetlibre mixtapes because it has some of the qualities I look for. Retro sound, electro, and a unique tracklist. I don’t think I’ve posted many of the tracks in this list, so check it out. They’re also currently running Project Batidora which is a remix project from various artists you’ve probably heard me talking about in the past; Cut Copy, Yelle, Dragonette, Walter Meego, Tokyo Police Club, Ladyhawke, Metronomy, and many more. I included three tracks with this mix, though I would’ve also liked to include the Frankmusik remix of Radiohead. I can’t find it though so you’ll have to wait on that one. First is the Autokratz remix of Alex Metric. Lack of a better term, very dirty electro. Second is from a group out of New York, I’m sure you’ve heard of them Designer Drugs and their remix of Mission Control. Absolutely loving this track.

12. Overthrill – Your Life
13. Mission Control – Innerspace (Designer Drugs Remix)
14. Giorgio Moroder – E=mc2 (Culture Prophet Remix)
15. The Outrunners – These Girls Are Dressed To Kill (Russ Chimes Remix)
16. Radiohead – Reckoner (Frankmusik Remix)
17. Inner Party System – Die Tonight (LA Riots Remix)
18. Electric Youth – Replay (Justin Faust Remix)
Futureflashs is out with a new mix, Space Rock Vol. 2. I love his mixes because they always have tracks which I’ve never heard of before, usually ones I can’t even find. It kind of makes me said as a mainly electro music blogger. This hour long mix has 31 tracks which I think I’ve only posted two tracks; the Soulwax and Phrenzy remixes. Very euro club and very dirty mix this time from Futureflashs, completely different from his Future Disco mixes. It was hard to choose three, but don’t worry, I might post some other tracks from this mix later on outside of this post cause I just can’t get enough of them.
I included three tracks from the mix, first the Malente remix of Foals. Who would’ve thought that this track could sound so dirty. Next, is the oh so famous Herve with Plastic Little and the Armand Van Helden remix. This track doesn’t really need any introduction, very underground grunge house if that’s even a proper description. I make these genres up in my head as I listen to the track so sometimes they’re completely warped. And lastly, the Jence remix of The Presets which is pure electro, let’s hear more from Jence. I’ll be posting some other tracks from the mix really depending on how many free post slots I’ve got next week. Also, hopefully Futureflashs doesn’t mind that I’m posting tracks from the mix, sometimes DJs are very particular about that. But he’s been cool in the past.
1. The Aston Shuffle – Stomp Yo Shoes (The Bloody Beetroots Clap Mix) 2. Herve & A-Trak – Rollin with Winners 3. Tag Team – Whoomp There It Is (The Disco Villains Remix) 4. Black Holes – I`m a Beast 5. The Qemists – Lost Weekend (Hot Pink Delorean Remix) 6. Foals – Electric Ballroom (Malente Remix) 7. Herve – Cheap Thrills (Armand van Helden Remix) 8. Moby – I Love To Move In Here (The Proxy Remix) 9. SebastiAn – Momy 10. Yuksek – Deladeu (Edit) 11. FutureFlashs – Reach (Difuzion Krew Remix) 12. Fukkk Offf – Rave is King 13. The Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy, Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix) 14. Le Castle Vania & Computer Club – The Messiah 15. Nixon – Hop Scotch 16. Late Of The Pier – Focker (Phrenzy Remix) 17. Stay Ali – Bingheiser 18. The Bloody Beetroots feat. Congorock– Rombo 19. Housemeister – In Order to Dance (Boys Noize Megamix) 20. The Ting Tings – Shut Up And Let Me Go (LAZRtag Remix) 21. Now Press Star – The Pilot`s Wife
A couple months ago The Twelves released a mixtape, 30 Minutes of The Twelves. They’ve recently released a new one, Episode II! It seems they favor discodust and bigstereo, though I don’t blame them cause those are the biggest blogs in the scene. I just hope they don’t get mad that I’m posting the mix as well, way after they released it anyways. Nevertheless, I love these guys and they’re way too good. The mix is seemless, I haven’t heard a mix like this in a while. It’s also jammed with a bunch of their remixes including their remixes of Zeigeist and The Virgins. I think I almost fell over when I heard Daft Punk’s Voyager mixed in. I guess the trick to a seemless mix is to actually make a lot of the music yourself, unless you want to have sets that drone on with the same beat. Time to practice on the keyboard, or buy one. I included two tracks by David E. Sugar and Metronomy.
Also, this is how I’m going to be setting up mix posts from now on, instead of having streaming for individual tracks they’ll just be linked in the tracklist.
1. Zeigeist – Humanitarianism (The Twelves Replay) 2. Radiohead – Reckoner (The Twelves Replay) 3. Mirwais – Naive Song 4. Of Montreal – Gronlandic Edit 5. David E. Sugar – To Yourself 6. The Virgins – Rich Girls (The Twelves Replay) 7. Daft Punk – Voyager 8. Jupiter – CHIP 9. Fleet Foxes – White Winter Hymnal (The Twelves Replay) 10. Metronomy – Heartbreaker 11. The Twelves – Works for Me (The Twelves Replay) 12. Lykke Li – Dance Dance Dance (The Twelves Replay)
Little Boots has come up with another great mixtape called “Computer Fairyland”, link included below. I posted a remix by Fake Blood of her a while back, I guess I’ll include it here. Victoria Hesketh, better known as Little Boots and of Dead Disco, is going to make her American debut with her EP Arecibo due out in mid-November. Don’t let her looks fool you, she definitely knows her way around the keyboard and the electronic scene. The first thing I think of when I hear ‘DJ’ is Pete Tong or the grungy duo of Justice. She’s changing the face of the scene. Along with her voice, she can go anywhere. Her music and mixtapes/DJ sets, although being quite different from each other, both remind me of the underground club scenes over here which is why I think she’ll have no problem making it in the US.
She’ll be DJing at Nocturnal Festival in Los Angeles with Digitalism on September 13. Check out some of videos of her playing here, and here. She did a cover of Alphabeat’s Boyfriend with her bro which I loved. Alphabeat has always been kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I want that thing with the lights and beats that she plays with by the way.
I decided that I wouldn’t be doing you justice for not posting the Justice at Ibiza mix, excuse the pun. Heard parts of it on BBC Radio 1Live in Ibiza. Not really sure if they played the whole set on the radio, I’m sure they did though I didn’t want to spend 8 hours of my weekend to find out. Anyways, here’s the full thing which I wish I could give props to for posting, but I’m not sure who did. I think it’s a good look at one of Justice’s sides, we heard their creative and unique tracklist side in their rejected Fabric Mix, this is more suitable for the clubs which Ibiza was that weekend. Not that this mix didn’t have a creative tracklist, but it’s something I’m more used to which is always good.
1. Donna Summer – Dim All the Lights 2. Justice – Waters of Nazareth 3. ? 4. Party Shank – Penis VS Vagina (Lies In Disguise Remix) 5. Prodigy – Girls 6. ? 7. Don Rimini – Let Me Back Up (Crookers Tetsujin Remix) 8. Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix) 9. Brodinski – Bad Runner 10. Voodoo Chilli – Get On Down (Original Mix) 11. Les Petits Pilous – Wake Up 12. Mr Oizo – Bruce Willis is Dead 13. Mr Oizo – Flat Beat 14. 20 Fingers – Short Dick Man (Disco Villains Remix) 15. Alex Gopher – Dust 16. Justice – Phantom Pt. 2 (Soulwax Remix) 17. Gonzales – Working Together (Boys Noize Remix) 18. Boys Noize – &Down (Extended mix)
Included three tracks, two of which I’d like to give props to Hot Biscuits for having. First track is the Crookers remix of Don Rimini. Maybe one of the first Crookers tracks I enjoyed. An absolute podium finish for the Soulwax remix of Justice’s Phantom Pt. 2, though it might be because this was one of my favorite tracks by Justice. Soulwax definitely kept a lot of the elements of this track in tact. There’s some additional bass lines and vocals, I do really do like the additions to the track. It’s more epic. And lastly, the Disco Villains remix of 20 Fingers. Yikes, this makes me disappointed in myself for not having posted Disco Villains yet.

Keenhouse is at it again with a new mixtape, Disco To Disco. I actually couldn’t find much information on this mixtape so, I assume it’s new Ken? I’ve posted his music before and I think I like it too much. In a good way of course. Anyways, this mix has two faces to it; it starts out with what you’d normally expect from Keenhouse with the retro sound and it goes right into electro/dance towards the end. Smooth mix, not many mixes I’ve liked lately but this went past my high standards. Check it.
1. Sunlinxx – For A Better Future 2. Tony Lee – Love So Deep (Instrumental) 3. Starpoint – Wanting You (Romeo Erotic Remix) 4. Thomas Bangalter – Colossus (Phantom’s Revenge Rework – FutureFlashs Live Re-Edit) 5. Ben Mono – Jesus Was A B Boy (Moulinex Remix) 6. Bag Raiders – Nil By Mouth (Knightlife Remix) 7. Division Kent – L’Heure Bleue (Keenhouse Remix) 8. Young Monday – Russiya 9. Human Electric – Borderlinn 10. Division Kent – In The Headlights (Melnyk Is Behind The Wheel Remix) 11. Daroc – Birth 12. International Music System – Nonline 13. Break Machine – Street Dance (4TrackZ Remix) 14. Vivek Shraya- If We’re Not Talking (Ben Mono Remix) 15. Minitel Rose – Elevator 16. Let’s Get Invisible – The Spices Of Love Chesty (Turbo P Remix) 17. Love Motel – Cosmic Love (Grum Remix) 18. The Count Of Monte Cristal – Dub More Forward (Original) 19. Hercules And Love Affair – You Belong (Riton Rerub) 20. The Sidestreet Players – Aquarius (E.B.E. Remix) 21. Trickski – Hormony
Included three tracks from the mixes, one track I wish I had is ‘Division Kent – In The Headlights (Melnyk Is Behind The Wheel Remix)’, but it hasn’t been released yet so keep an eye out for Melnyk and Division Kent. I actually have two Ben Mono tracks, first of which is a Moulinex remix. All things you should expect from Moulinex, sometimes I wonder why this guy isn’t bigger than he is. Sounds more French house strangely. Second track is from a a group called Minitel Rose, an electro trio who I’ve sadly looked over in the past. They almost remind me of a mix of Daft Punk and Justice, in modern form. Expect to see more of them from me. And lastly, the Ben Mono remix of Vivek Shraya. A rather strange track with a thick bass beat.
Well, here’s some more of Starters, the duo who brought us two awesome mashups I posted from them earlier last week. Well, if you’re in Chicago on Wednesday August 13th, you’re going to have to check them out at Sonotheque from 9pm-2am. The list includes Starters DJs, STV SLV, and El Topo & Harry H. And it’s only 5$ before midnight! I can’t even go to a movie for that cheap. If that isn’t reason enough to party, I don’t know what is. You can find out more about it here.
They were nice enough to send me over some tracks and their S.O.T.D mixtape. Really liked their mixtape, thought it builds up rather nicely. Loves it when it hits the Daft Punk mash-up track. It’s definitely one of the dirtier mixes I’ve heard, dirty, electro, and hip-hop all in one conglomerate.
Crystal Castles vs Uffie – Make it Hot M.I.A. – Paper Planes (Starters Remix) Adam Tensta – My Cool (Prod. Addeboy vs. Cliff) Estelle ft. Kanye West – American Boy Crookers vs Cool Kids – Voglio solo Action Figures (Starters Remix) Daft Punk vs. Wyclef Jean (Mashup) Yelle – À Cause des Garçons (Sta Remix) Gnarls Barkley vs. Donna Summer – I Feel Crazy Starters – Cream, harder, friends, stronger Will Smith – Prince of Belair (Starters Remix) M.I.A. vs Starkillers – Pull up the Big Bass (Starters Remix) ? – Pump up the Calabria (Starters Remix) Mason Vs Princess Superstar – Perfect (Exceeder) Cobra Krames – What More Time! Justice feat. Uffie – The Party (LA Riots Remix) The Chemical Brothers – The Salmon Dance (Crookers Mix) Peter Gelderblom – Waiting 4 (Original Mix) Ghosthouse – Samuel L Jackson Splashfunk vs Funky Junction – Push it Playdoe – It’s That Beat (Toxic Avenger Remix) MGMT vs Adam Freeland – We Want Your Kids (Starters Remix) Felix Da Housecat – Radio (Shinici Osawa Remix) Kid Sister ft. Kanye West – Pro Nails (Remix) Bloc Party – Flux (JFK Remix) Freeform Five – No More Conversations (Mylo remix) Shawty lo vs Chris Brow – They Crazzy Kiss Kiss (Starters Remix)
Here are also three tracks from the mix. I always love a synth remix of MGMT, it’s something they should’ve stuck with. It has a nice dance beat to it. Second is remix of M.I.A.‘s Paper Planes. And lastly, their re-edit of the Fresh Prince theme with some additional electro back ups.
