I Would Follow You

Starting off the week with some non-remix tracks. Starting off with Strange Talk‘s Cast Away which I heard on Hype a couple weeks ago and fell in love with it almost instantly. I thought it sounded very familiar but in a distant kind of way, rightfully so for two different reasons. They’re part of that Australian wave, which I was fully into a couple years ago, but I have since sadly not heard much of lately. The more obvious reason was because I posted their track Eskimo Boy a while back, but this track was actually quite different from the tracks in their first single. It’s a direction they’re taking that I’m really getting into, more of this. Second is Moullinex Kassette that I couldn’t help but post, given that it encompasses the sound this blog has always been after. So much love for Moullinex, even when he was still Moulinex with one ‘l’. And lastly, totally late on this one as it was from last year, Lykke Li‘s I Follow Rivers. Great track, I’ll post a great remix of it that I’m sure you’ve heard already in the next post.

New Moullinex

New Moullinex. I’m ecstatic. I love the build-up of his remix of Voltaire Twins Romulus, amazing track I can’t stop listening to. It’s the little things that count when it comes to Moullinex. You have to listen to the original as well, I’ve never heard of the Voltaire Twins but they’re sounding great on their own. Also included some of his other recent tracks, the remix of Gigamesh and of his original Sunflare.

Enlightenment
So, my life is going 50 miles per second. Schools catching up on me and it seems my stuff is more interesting than I thought. I wish I had more time to listen to music because that world is becoming more and more exciting, I’m anticipating a good year. That’s my excuse, take it. New Feist album, I know, isn’t this an electro blog? No! Not completely. Also the new Justice album which I’m hoping is great despite that awful remix. Yeah okay, that’s about it, but I have good vibes. I totally missed the new SebastiAn and Carte Blanche albums coming from Ed Banger, more stuff for me to catch up on. I decided today not to post the newest tracks out there, but ones by my favorite musicians/producers. First is the Falcon Punch edit of Moullinex Lover In Me Ah Moulinex, how I miss thee. Please do some more remixes, I know your original stuff is great and probably more important but your remixes were pure gold. Second is the Breakbot remix of Pnau Baby which I was shown is on the GT5 soundtrack. And lastly, the Robotaki remix of Kavinsky. Old but still, I love everything Robotaki makes. Oh, and thanks Sam for the image.

TGIF
Big start, a new track from SebastiAn Enio which was featured in Ed Banger’s Let the Children Techno. Big because I’ve always been a fan of SebastiAn but he released stuff like once a year. Probably more, I just don’t pay enough attention, what a fan I am. Secondly, Moullinex‘s Meow which is from his new EP Chocolate. It’s great hearing stuff from Moullinex too! Make sure you check out the rest of the EP, great tracks like Tear Club. And lastly, the Tip’s n’ Hype! mash-up of Lifelike So Electric and Gypsy and the Cat Jona Vark. Kind of reminds me why I love Lifelike so much, I really got to get some more of his older remixes up.

Turbo Love

This is the Bag Raiders I remember, Turbo Love is a great track. I might just have to post the original in another post, but this is definitely what I was expecting from their debut album, if you haven’t heard Turbo Love yet because it wasn’t in their new album, check it out here. A tiny bit toned down in the remix by Light Year, great remix of a great track. Second is an original from Moullinex, Love it is, Then which I’m liking the vibe I’m getting from this song. The trumpet sample, makes me love house a bit more. And lastly, the Beast Rave remix of Caribou Odessa which let me tell you, out of 200 emails, this one took the top. Although that might not be as big of a compliment because 90% of those emails were junk, I like the track haha.

What about clubbing?

indie-hearts
Week four of being in Toronto; old friends, drinking booze, unhealthy food, G20, being locked out of campus/work, holiday. After all this madness, a serious lack of music or good electro at least. When will this next electro revival be? When Justice releases a new album? I certainly hope it comes sooner than that. I’ve found a few great tracks to satisfy my needs until then. First off, a track which sent to me from a friend, thank you maybe you should write for us, the THIS/Is remix of Paradiso Girls Patron Tequilla. It kind of reminds me of the good old days when I just started this blog up, amazing remix. The Lorenz Rhode remix of Moullinex Superman, his most recent single. I’ve always liked Moullinex’s remixes, I’m very curious about his originals which he seems to be concentrating on now. And lastly, the John Poincarré remix of Chic which I heard on Hype and couldn’t pass up. It reminded me of Daft Punk in many ways.

Don Cheadle on a Bed of Rice
Thank you 30 Rock and Jon Hamm for making my week. Alright, let’s start hump day off with a great remix from Designer Drugs of Annie‘s Anthonio. First time I’ve been really blown away by a remix in a while. It’s very club and very up beat, but I think that might be what we need. Second is the Moulinex remix of Who Made Who‘s I Lost My Voice. Or should I say Moullinex now, I guess he changed it. I thought, I haven’t posted Moullinex in a while so I’d check up with his stuff and alas, there’s some new remixes. You should totally check him out if you haven’t already, I’ll only post one of his tracks. And lastly, the Dan Sena remix of the Scanners. Have you heard the original? Officially amazed by Dan Sena’s talent.
