No that isn’t Rebecca Black, sheesh. Got some great tracks for you today, and despite them being popular on Hype Machine, I actually found most of them on Soundcloud! What a great place for music. Starting off with a great track suggested from one of you guys, the Plastic Plates remix of Strange Talk Cast Away. Awesome remix, thanks for forwarding it to me, more of this! Second is the RAC remix of Chromeo Bonafied’ Lovin which I though I had heard enough of, but apparently not. Great rendition of the track, I can always trust RAC to properly revamp something. One minute in, such a great sound. Thirdly is the Jay Lamar and Jesse Oliver remix of Viceroy Chase Us Around. Always loved Viceroy, this remix is pretty pleasant, we need to move away from the upbeat sometimes. Leaving off with the Oliver remix of Aeroplane‘s We Can’t Fly… oh so retro electro or funktronica? These guys are great. If you’re looking for the Zimmer mix because you got linked here, it’s on this post.
Well, not really the end of the world, but windy (except in New York where it is the Day After Tomorrow). Here’s some music the pass the time. Yes, you are correct! The Magician remix of Lykke Li‘s I Follow Rivers. I haven’t heard a better remix of the track, all the other remixes are intense trance ones. But this remix segues perfectly into this second track, the Zimmer remix of Pompeya Power. If I were to make a mix, this would be the likely track after the Lykke Li remix. Love the sound of it, takes me a back a bit. Really clean as well. Ending off with the Vindata remix of Strange Talk‘s Cast Away which is also really clean sounding. I guess that’s the theme of this post!
Starting off the week with some non-remix tracks. Starting off with Strange Talk‘s Cast Away which I heard on Hype a couple weeks ago and fell in love with it almost instantly. I thought it sounded very familiar but in a distant kind of way, rightfully so for two different reasons. They’re part of that Australian wave, which I was fully into a couple years ago, but I have since sadly not heard much of lately. The more obvious reason was because I posted their track Eskimo Boy a while back, but this track was actually quite different from the tracks in their first single. It’s a direction they’re taking that I’m really getting into, more of this. Second is Moullinex Kassette that I couldn’t help but post, given that it encompasses the sound this blog has always been after. So much love for Moullinex, even when he was still Moulinex with one ‘l’. And lastly, totally late on this one as it was from last year, Lykke Li‘s I Follow Rivers. Great track, I’ll post a great remix of it that I’m sure you’ve heard already in the next post.
Well, the exam I was studying so hard for completely ignoring the blog and music, waste of time. Probably would’ve done the same without studying; overall poorly. Anyways, excuse my late Friday post, some tracks I found interesting from this week. Some tracks I came across while surfing Hype and some music blogs, totally reposts. First is the Why Are We Whispering remix of Martin Solveig featuring Dragonette and I guess Ish Hello. Great remix of a great track, I’ve always liked Dragonette and I’ve shamefully forgotten about Martin Solveig. If you don’t already know who Why Are We Whispering is, it’s Don Diablo and Ish. A little taste of what they sound like. Second is the Jungle Fiction remix of Cassette Culture which I’m really digging the vibe of this remix. It’s kind of like the Derezzed by Daft Punk, but with a rock touch. And lastly, something oh so interesting, Strange Talk Eskimo Boy. It makes me sad that I’ve never heard of Strange Talk before, I used to be so into the Aussie scene… what happened?
