Yeah, joke has been overdone. Back to the usual stuff, the Krystal Klear remix of The Count & Sinden featuring Mystery Jets. Pretty groovy track, I really like it. And I think that might just be the theme of this post, because The Magician remix of Yuksek is pretty groovy too. And I think I listened to this remix at least 10 times, loving the raw electric beats and rock feel, the SposhRock remix of The Naked & Famous. Excuse the short post.
Got three awesome remixes for you this wonderful Friday before the holidays, for people in school anyways who are already off partying it up. You workaholics? Possibility of partying at work? Maybe in the cubicle. Let’s start off the Silicone Project remix of Futurecop! Dreams. The intro got me right away, maybe it’s the awesome beat or the strangely off-tune sound of it, whatever it is I love it. Not to mention Futurecop! is amazing, they totally should’ve made the soundtrack for the original Tron besides the fact that that movie predates them by nearly 20 years. Master Controller has nothing on me. The Yuksek remix of Vandroid Master & Slave, feeling a bit more industrial. There’s actually a bunch of great electro remix producers remixing this Vandroid track for the EP you should definitely check out. The Yuksek remix being one I liked more. And lastly, yes once again, Shinichi Osawa! Haven’t posted his stuff in a while, but Keenhouse makes great remixes.
We haven’t heard much from Gorillaz at least musically since their 2005 album Demon Days. Well, you’re probably already excited about this if you’re a Gorillaz fan because they’re releasing their latest album Plastic Beach on March 9th or 8th depending on where you are which you can pre-order online on iTunes and Amazon. I’m pretty pumped for this, I’ve only heard Stylo and Superfast Jellyfish so far. Definitely hearing a bit more of a heavy base upbeat rock feel to it along with the regular Gorillaz we’re used to. Obviously I can’t comment on the album because I’m far from privileged enough to have listened to it yet.
I’ve included streaming of Stylo for you guys, you’ll have to get the album to have it for yourself, and also a couple remixes for you guys. I absolutely love the way the Louis La Roche remix starts, it almost gives me chills. That may be the perfect filter, cause I love how it changes tracks and Louis La Roche uses it perfectly. I love his remixes. Somewhat more upbeat version, the Alex Metric remix of the track is something I’d enjoy hearing at the club once in a while. That wish will never be granted unfortunately. And lastly, the Yuksek remix where he actually managed to make the track completely different. Props for that. A slower start than the other remixes, but it definitely builds up into a great track.
Gorillaz – Stylo
One of the better Daft Punk remixes I’ve heard, by Night Drugs who I don’t think I’ve heard of before. It’s got a great sound, even better completely different from the original but it works for the track. How refreshing, it vaguely reminds me of the Lifelike or Moulinex type sound. Second track is the Yuksek and Brodinski remix of Peaches’ Lose You sounding like something right out of a 007 game, Goldeneye to be specific. It’s slightly quieter than the other tracks, I can’t really see anyone going wild dancing to this track. And lastly, the Juxx remix of Private‘s My Secret Lover. Let the track play out a bit. Just a mention, I won’t be posting this track, but check it out. Doesn’t it Flosstradamus remix sound slightly like Basement Jaxx? Cause I love it, it’s like a Matt & Kim and Basement Jaxx mash-up.
Got another three tracks for you today, surprise! Starting off with the MMMatthias remix of Moderat. Interesting to say the least, no vocals. Although I have no idea what the original sounds like so I’m not exactly sure how MMMatthias changed it. Sounds like something out of a sci-fi computer game. Second is the Yuksek remix of Phoenix, really , liking this track after the intro. It has a really awesome beat, although it sounds ever so slightly of that terrible Crazy Town song. I wasn’t exactly happy having Butterfly stuck in my head the rest of the morning. Great track though haha. And lastly, the Don Diablo remix of Dragonette which strangely reminds me of Justice, at least the intro of the song. I wouldn’t have minded hearing more of the sound they used in the intro actually. It gets a little funky after that, absolutely loving it.
I’ve noticed lately that people who’ve posted new songs like these with download links included suddenly “disappear”. I like being alive, and because I really want you to hear these songs I’ve got something better for you, you can listen and then possibly buy it later. The video above is from Simian Mobile Disco‘s new song Synthesise directed by Kate Moross and Alex Sushon. Warning the video contains flashing images? Possible new loading screen for Windows? I included the track for sampling purposes as well, it should be in their next album due sometime 2009. Second track is the new Royksopp song Happy Up Here from their new album Junior due March 2009 already released in their new single. There’s a ton of remixes of this song, I’ll be posting more of them this week. And lastly, the Yuksek featuring Chromeo track So Down from their new album Away From the Sea that came out Feb 10th last week.
I’ll update the Buy links as they come cause not all of them have it, this is why I feel bad, although I can’t give you the songs there’s no real way you can get them. None of these tracks are leaked and none of them are available by download on this blog.

Yuksek feat. Chromeo – So Down
First track I’ve had laying around in the mess of music but strangely I’ve never posted, the Yuksek remix of Tommy Sparks. Haven’t posted anything from Yuksek for a while so I thought it was about time. Loving the track, a bit surprising because I always remembered Yuksek as more club and less underground electro sounding. Second song is Les Petits Pilous remix of Justice which sounds strangely familiar to Kylie’s In My Arms obviously produced by Calvin Harris. Really, they don’t sound anything alike, but I like to link stuff like that. And lastly, you may not have heard of him yet, the Death to the Throne remix of Chromeo‘s Fancy Footwork. It has a great beat rework for the track.
